Hysteroscopic morcellation is a way to remove fibroids from your uterus using a hysteroscope and a morcellator. A hysteroscope is a thin device with a camera that goes through your vagina and cervix to see inside your uterus. A morcellator is a tool that cuts and removes the fibroid tissue. You will have either a general or local anesthetic for this procedure. You can usually leave the hospital on the same day. Hysteroscopic morcellation has an advantage over hysteroscopic resection, which is another method to remove fibroids. It is because the hysteroscope only needs to enter your uterus once, which lowers the chance of damaging your uterus.
