Hysteroscopy For Uterine Polyps

Hysteroscopy is a procedure that lets your surgeon see inside your uterus using a device called a hysteroscope. A hysteroscope is a thin, lighted tube that goes through your vagina and cervix to reach your uterus. Hysteroscopy can help diagnose or treat problems that cause abnormal uterine bleeding.

WHAT IS DIAGNOSTIC HYSTEROSCOPY?  : Diagnostic hysteroscopy is when the hysteroscope is used to find out what is wrong with your uterus. It can detect any abnormalities in the shape or lining of your uterus that may be causing bleeding. It can also confirm the findings of other tests, such as an ultrasound or hysterosalpingography (HSG). HSG is a test that uses X-ray dye to check if your fallopian tubes are open or blocked. Blocked fallopian tubes can affect your fertility.
